Miss Disco, the UK’s top 100% live classic disco band, will once again be getting the yuletide festivities started at their annual Christmas party at Chesterfords Communities Centre in Great Chesterford on Saturday, 23rd December.

Now in its 18th year and always a sell-out, Miss Disco’s Christmas Party will be the Saffron Walden-based disco champion’s first show back on their home patch since kicking-off this summer’s Heritage Live concerts at Audley End House, where they opened for Bjorn Again, The Real Thing and Boney M.

Those attending this year’s Christmas party are, as always, deeply encouraged to attend in fancy dress, with this year’s theme being ‘School Disco’.

Susan Pinky said, “There will be prizes for the best outfits and gold stars awarded to those who’ve done their homework and learnt the words to all the songs. Snogging under the mistletoe is permitted, smoking in the toilets isn’t. And for the very naughty ones, being caned on stage is entirely optional!”

The set list this year promises to be a blizzard of ‘old skool’ funk, soul and club classics from across the decades, alongside all-time classic dance floor anthems by disco’s biggest icons.

Miss Disco’s male vocalist and keyboard player Marcus Tinkler said, “Putting together a special one-night-only set has become something of a masochistic ritual for the band. But we truly love doing it, just for the amazing crowd who come out to party with us every year at Christmas – and this year’s set is without doubt our funkiest ever. We really can’t wait to play it for everyone!”

Miss Disco’s seven-piece line-up earned its reputation as the country’s top disco revue after twenty years of performing together at numerous festivals and prestigious events, including the Glastonbury, Heritage Live, Standon Calling, Silverstone Woodlands and Cambridge Club Festival, amongst many others.

Miss Disco’s powerhouse lead vocalist Susan Pinky – the personification of a disco diva – will, as always, be backed by her long-time bandmates Marcus Tinkler (keys & co-lead vocals), DC1 (bass), Warren Terror (drums & vocals), Max Blohard (trumpet) and Randy Blohard (saxophone) and Funkin’ Jack Flash (guitar & vocals).

Between them, the band has recording, performance and touring credits with an incredible array of stars, including Take That, Amy Winehouse, Kylie Minogue, The Jacksons, Beverley Knight, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Human League, Soul II Soul, Westlife, Jamie Cullum, Snarky Puppy, Gregory Isaacs, Dame Shirley Bassey, Dionne Warwick and Rose Royce, amongst dozens of others.

Looking ahead to the Christmas party, Susan Pinky said, “2023 has been an amazing year for Miss Disco, but we’re truly saving the best until last this year. See you on the dance floor!”
