Pop-Up Theatre Weekend in Historic Suffolk Town

Over the first weekend in September the historic town of Lavenham, Suffolk will play host to a Pop-Up Theatre Weekend at the Sports Pavilion on Bridge Street Road.

Opening with a matinee performance on Saturday 5th September at 1:30pm featuring the UK’s No.1 Vera Lynn tribute, Lorrie Brown. Lorrie will transport you back to the days when the songs has beautiful lyrics and melodies, dressed in her authentic ENSA uniform. The show is assured to have you on your feet waving your flags with pride with some of the classic songs from the 1940’s, including of course, ‘We’ll Meet Again‘.

This will be followed by a variety show featuring the cast of the award winning Dad’s Army Touring Show who were doing their very best to protect the ‘Green and Pleasant’ shores of Great Britian from their base at Warmington on Sea.

Saturday afternoon will be rounded up by the UK’s premier Wartime Act, The D-Day Darlings, three key members bring their brand new stage show to Historic Lavenham.

On Saturday evening The Force that is The Real Thing with original vocalists Chris Amoo & Dave Smith will performing this exclusive date in Historic Lavenham on Saturday September 5th around the time of their new blockbuster movie release ‘EVERYTHING’ playing nationally in cinemas. This will also be screened on BBC4. This exclusive only 2020 show at this time will be an all hits show.

Also featured is the music of Luther Vandross. Harry Cambridge recreates the sound and has the soul in his solo show to the world’s greatest soul singer.

Albert Lee is undoubtedly one of the finest guitarists the world has ever seen, a Double Grammy Award Winner Lee is also an accomplished piano player and has a fine singing voice. He has a soulful voice but can equally ‘tear it up’ rock ‘n roll style. Albert Lee takes to the Lavenham stage at 1:30pm on Sunday 6th September.

Rounding off the weekend in style T.Rextasy ‘Unplugged’ brings you the songs of Marc Bolan played acoustically and sung by Danielz (lead singer and lead guitarist with T.Rextasy), accompanied by John Skelton (drummer with T.Rextasy) on congas and percussion.  Tracks that many of you would have heard the band play electrically over the years, take on a new dimension, giving the audience and musicians a more intimate and relaxed approach to the evening.

Please be aware as each booking is made this will be converted into to your ‘Bubble Reserved Seats’ in the selected rows and seat numbers. Although not then amended on the plan the seats will be laid out for the performance according to bookings allowing for the current Government Guideline Social Distancing radius of your Bubble Seating (adjacent to you and in front and behind).
