Rehearsals Kick Off For ‘Never Lost At Home’

What an incredible moment when Bobby Robson’s small, skilful and heroic squad finally claimed the UEFA Cup, the first European Trophy in the club’s history. The New Wolsey is recounting this momentous story through the eyes of a family of avid Ipswich Town fans, as they follow their heroes around Europe by plane, train, car, ferry and car boot, through Greek Riots, a Polish revolution, a Czech blizzard and French mud and their final party in the streets and canals of Amsterdam.

‘Never Lost at Home’ is directed and written by the New Wolsey Theatre’s Artistic Director Pete Rowe and is hallmarked by a smash-hit soundtrack from the ‘70s and ‘80s performed live by multi-talented actor-musicians. A community chorus of young people recreate the football sequences of some of those matches and you can expect a gallery of famous faces including Peter Peverley, returning from the sell-out 2018 New Wolsey production of ‘Our Blue Heaven,’ to play the great Bobby Robson.
