On Saturday 28th January 2017, the world famous Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines will be joining forces with the Band of the Royal Hospital School for their third annual joint concert.
Starting at 7pm in the school’s grand Assembly Hall, the concert will feature a wide range of music to suite all tastes, including music from the silver screen, solo items, a classical overture and a brand new composition. The night will conclude with a full Naval sunset ceremony.
The 50-piece RHS Band and will share the stage with 35 members of one of the world’s most elite military musical organisations, further strengthening the bond between the school and the Royal Marine.
Corporal Chris Harris, who will be leading the Corps of Drums on the night said:
“As an old boy of RHS it gives me great pleasure to be coming back to my old school to help out the next generation of drummers; I’m really looking forward to it.”
The Bandmaster at RHS, former Royal Marines Director of Music Richard Harvey, said:
“The pupils in the school band are still buzzing from the joint concert we did last year, it really does mean that much to them . We have a fantastic relationship with the RM Band, and long may that continue.”
