RPO in Cambridge

On Wednesday 11 October 2017, the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) performs the opening orchestral concert in the 2017/18 Cambridge Classical Concert Series.

Daniel Kharitonov is the dazzling young soloist who takes on Beethoven’s sublime Piano Concerto No. 4, conducted by the charismatic Christoph Altstaedt.  The concert opens with Mendelssohn’s magical A Midsummer Night’s Dream Oveture and ends with Dvořák’s emotional seventh symphony, brimming with warmth and nostalgia.

Ahead of the 7.30pm concert, sponsored by Boldfield Computing, audiences will have the opportunity to ‘Meet the Musicians’ in the Corn Exchange foyer from 6.45pm until 7.15pm, free of charge to concert ticket holders.
