Skerryvore to Embark on UK Tour

“Skerryvore have always been the band to get the feet tapping faster, the heart pumping harder and the smiles ever broader and their steady stream of gigs continues to bring that reputation to an ever wider audience. Their roots will always be firmly planted in Scottish soil but they seem more determined than ever to spread their life-enriching music to the rest of the world”. Johnny Whalley Folk Radio

Formed by brothers Daniel Gillespie (accordion) and Martin Gillespie (pipes, whistles and accordion) along with Fraser West (drums) and Alec Dalglish (guitar and vocals) on the Isle of Tiree in 2005, Skerryvore’s line-up includes Craig Espie (fiddle) and Jodie Bremaneson (bass), Scott Wood (pipes and whistles) and Alan Scobie (keyboards). Together they fuse their traditional west coast roots with pop, folk and country influences to create their own high-energy brand of contemporary Scottish music.

Alec Dalglish’s vocals take influence from across the Atlantic. Often compared to Runrig, Rascal Flatts, Eagles & Jackson Browne the Pop-Folk-American undertone is evident but subtle and is fused with the band’s Scottish upbringing to create something truly unique.
