Sound City Ipswich is supporting local artists: with mainstays of the local gig circuit, the Manningtree-based band Dingus Khan playing alongside Bury St Edmunds’ garage-punk rockers Gaffa Tape Sandy, Ipswich’s Bessie Turner and John Peel favourites, The Stupids.

Working with BBC Introducing in Suffolk, the Sound City Ipswich programme will include an outoor stage on the Cornhill featuring emerging regional bands curated by Richard Haugh and Angelle Joseph from BBC Radio Suffolk. This stage will be free to attend. Confirmed acts on this stage include Suffolk noir pop musician Eloïse, alt r&b inspired Conner Nunn, conscious rapper EL-Emcee, disorientating rock from Ghosts of Men and indie pop four piece Swimsuit Competition.

Music industry conference:

Sound City Ipswich’s conference will take place from 11am-5pm at Ipswich Film Theatre and will feature panel discussions and conversations with artists and industry figures.
