Suffolk Singers at St Mary’s, Woodbridge

by | Sep 7, 2019 | Music

Already familiar to Woodbridge audiences, Suffolk Singers, under the superb musical direction of Claire Weston, will present “Autumn Interlude” a concert, in the wonderful setting of Woodbridge Parish Church (St Mary’s) on 12th October, 7.30pm.

Come and listen to this splendid mixed choir for an enjoyable evening as they perform a varied programme selected from their wide repertoire which ranges from early music by Byrd and Palestrina through to modern composers like Macmillan, Gjello and Whitacre, much of which is performed a cappella.

The singing of this award-winning choir has resounded in many prestigious venues including local churches and the cathedrals of Bury St. Edmunds, Ely and Norwich as well as in cathedrals abroad, notably Ypres and Ghent during a tour to Belgium last year when they were also privileged to sing at the Menin Gate’s Last Post ceremony.

In 2017, Suffolk Singers were proud to feature in the summer concert series at Norfolk’s Binham Priory.  As ‘something completely different’ they have also performed at a concert alongside the singing group G4 and recorded for the SkyArts program on Constable with Richard. E. Grant as part of the series for Tate Britain.
