Live music is officially back on the Golden Mile. The Empire, Great Yarmouth’s iconic seafront venue, has announced its highly anticipated return to hosting live music events starting this Saturday.
The doors will open for an exciting night headlined by local and venue favourites, Dirty Havana. The Norwich-based classic rock powerhouse is renowned for bringing a modern, high-octane energy to legendary anthems from Queen, Elvis, AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, and more.
This Saturday’s show marks a major milestone for the historic, Grade II-listed former cinema building. Following an incredibly tough decision to close its doors last September due to the challenging economic climate facing independent grassroots venues nationwide, the venue’s stage has sat quiet. Now, the silence is breaking in spectacular fashion.
Launching ‘Summer Nights’
This Saturday’s performance serves as the official launch of Summer Nights—a curated series of live music events running throughout the school summer holidays. Guests can look forward to a brilliant lineup of incredible bands scheduled to perform every Saturday night. Best of all, in keeping with the venue’s tradition of making arts and culture accessible to everyone, all events feature completely free admission with no pre-booked tickets required.
Supporting Grassroots Music
With independent venues struggling across the UK, the team behind The Empire is urging locals and holidaymakers alike to head down, pack the house, and support these limited-run events.
The Empire’s Project Director, Jack Jay, shared his excitement: “We are absolutely thrilled to bring live music back to the stage this Saturday. Grassroots music is the lifeblood of our creative community, and after being closed since last September, we know just how much these nights have been missed. We have put together a stellar lineup of brilliant bands for our ‘Summer Nights’ series.
