Having just released his new crowdfunded album “The Endless Shipwreck” He wanted to combine his passion for music alongside his passion for walking and the East Anglian coastline.

Matt has received airplay from BBC 6’s Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinson as well as lots of local airplay too.

Matt tours as a solo acoustic artist playing his songs in their barest form with energy, passion and a healthy dose of humour and audience engagement. More like ‘an evening with’ than just another gig.

Matt has just followed up his acclaimed 2014 debut solo album, “Grounded”, with this sparkling second release, which is already making waves and earning him rave reviews.

Watson has been described by critics as “provocative”, “thought-provoking” and “heartfelt”, both in his well-crafted melodies and his profound lyrics. The brand new 13-track album has already been named Album of the Week on Radio Pure Gently.

Matt has revived Grounded’s winning formula by once again teaming up with the talented The Wonder Stuff violinist Erica Nockalls on two tracks, “We Were Young” and “Let’s Jump Ship!”.

Like his debut album, The Endless Shipwreck was entirely funded through Pledge Music, with devoted fans eager to support the release. It was recorded at NRSIX Studios by Justin Brand, and produced and mixed by the legendary Mark Freegard, who has worked with the likes of Del Amitri and Justin Currie, The Breeders, Kris Drever, Marillion, and many more.

Watson is going from strength to strength on the local music scene. An energetic, engaging performer, he is finding himself in increasing demand for live appearances, where he mixes his own self-penned, original material with the odd cover version or two! Watson has opened for major UK music stars such as Billy Bragg, Miles and Erica of The Wonder Stuff, Liverpool legend Ian Prowse, Julian Cope and The Undertones. He also went on an extensive solo tour of the UK in 2015 and 2016.
