The Magic Es – New Album & Launch Party

Acclaimed indie rock band The Magic Es return in full swing with the announcement of their new album, “Junkyard Toybox.” The album is the next project in their critically acclaimed discography. With melodic and memorable choruses oozing in every track, “Junkyard Toybox,” coming to listeners on May 4th, is set to be another record of infectious, melodic guitar pop.

Accompanying their release day will be a monumental hometown show at Voodoo Daddy’s showroom in Norwich. The show features a special lineup, including Tony James Shevlin & The Chancers plus The Frame. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available HERE for £5

“Junkyard Toybox” brings in a new era for the group after recording their first two albums independently. Producer Andy Hodgson (EMI Records, Bring Me the Horizon) brought the rock outfit to his state-of-the-art Orange Tree Studios to guide The Magic Es to their next project.

“After recording our first two albums ourselves we really wanted to work with a producer, someone who could bring our ideas to life and guide us as a band,” said the group. “He’s taken our songs and helped shaped them into an album that takes the listener on a real journey.”

The genre-defying Magic Es – consisting of guitarist/vocalist Pete Thompson, drummer Stuart Catchpole and bass player Jasper Stainthorpe – are a category all their own. Their album “Dead Star” [2019, Oh Mercy! Records] has been compared to the larger-than-life sounds of UK icons The Rolling Stones and The Killers.

As seasoned touring musicians, the group regularly performs all over the country and have shared the stage with South Africa’s biggest-selling rock band The Parlotones, as well as Glass Caves, Pop Will Eat Itself and The Wedding Present. They’ve also received radio play across the globe on hundreds of stations and a mountain of enthusiastic reviews from the likes of KEXP, BBC Introducing, XS Noize, One on One Music and Amazing Radio. Independent and label-less, The Magic Es commitment to self-sufficiency is a testament to their pure, hard work and love of music.
