70s Celebration & Comedy Favourite Heading To Norwich

One of Norwich’s favourite comedy performers and an all-star Seventies celebration are both on their way to the Theatre Royal.

Tickets go on public sale later this week for the high-octane celebration of a decade of music, Rip It Up The 70s, and the 2020 return of the ever-popular Ross Noble.

A trio of top celebrities are promising an explosion of song and dance with an on-stage Seventies-fest with Rip It Up The 70s on September 13.

Olympic gymnastics champion and Strictly favourite Louis Smith, who hails from across the county border in Peterborough in Cambridgeshire, will join S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens and Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton for what promises to be a groovy evening of singing and dancing.

The show comes from the team behind the Rip It Up The 60s show which has already proved to be a huge hit and the creative team behind it is now focusing on a brand new decade.

Meanwhile Ross Noble will bring his brand new show Humournoid to the Theatre Royal on May 25 next year. Once again, he will be seeking inspiration from life and the world around him with his refreshingly random outlook on the world.

He is also no stranger to the city having made a number of appearances here and boasts a strong following thanks to appearances on the likes of Have I Got News For You as well as starring in Young Frankenstein in the West End.

John Bultitude, of Norwich Theatre Royal, said: “The music, the style and the culture of the Seventies are definitely going to be centre stage with this latest Rip It Up show. A trio of top stars are set to take everyone back in time to an era with a clearly-defined culture and look.

Meanwhile it is always a pleasure to welcome Ross back to Norwich. His distinctive, random and always hilarious look at life guarantees laughs.”

Rip It Up The 70s, Friday 13 September at 7.30pm. Tickets £10-£40.50

Ross Noble, Monday May 25 at 8pm. Tickets £10-£27.
