Cast Change For Me & The Girls

Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds will soon be welcoming Evergreen Theatrical Productions to the theatre, with their new musical production of Noël Coward’s Me and the Girls. Due to a change of schedule, in place of previously-announced Darren Day, the lead role will now be played by James Gaddas (Tue 10 – Sat 14 Sep).

George Banks has been touring Europe since the end of World War Two – always with his troupe of girls. It’s the 1960s now, and he’s running out of steam – and fashion. But in his mind, he’s still up there with the best – George Banks and His Six Bombshells! From the inspired pen of Sir Noël Coward comes this hilarious and evocative musical comedy of the last days of vaudeville, with songs such as ‘Mad about the Boy’, ‘Sail Away’, ‘If Love Were All’ and ‘Bad Times Just Around the Corner’ from the Coward songbook.

James Gaddas is best known for starring as Governor Neil Grayling in ITV’s hit series Bad Girls, and for West End shows including Billy Elliot, Mamma Mia, The Girls and Spamalot (playing King Arthur). He has also appeared in Coronation Street, Jonathan Creek, Holby City and The Bill. The rest of the cast comprises Nicola Bryan, Jessica Brydges, Stephanie Cremona, Lara Lewis, Natalie Quarry, Lydia Shaw and Tom Self.

The piece is adapted by Richard Stirling, best-selling author of Julie Andrews: an intimate biography, and directed and choreographed by Stewart Nicholls, one of the most prolific musical and pantomime directors in the UK. The production is designed by Stewart Charlesworth with lighting by Chris Withers and musical arrangements by Rowland Lee.

Me and the Girls has seven performances at Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds, Tue 10 – Sat 14 Sep. Tickets are on sale at the Box Office, call 01284 769505, book online at www.theatreroyal.org/shows/noel-cowards-me-and-the-girls/ or visit the theatre in person.
