Spend a heart-warming afternoon with Gervase Phinn, one of Britain’s greatest comic writers and raconteurs, who has been touring and selling out theatres across the country for over 10 years.
Comedian, author, poet, broadcaster, lecturer, educational guru, after-dinner speaker and “born raconteur” (The Guardian) – Gervase is perhaps best known for his best-selling series of Dales books for Penguin. Affectionately dubbed ‘the James Herriot of Schools’, his warm-hearted reminiscences about the life of a schools inspector in the Yorkshire Dales have featured heavily on Radio 4’s Book Of The Week and Book At Bedtime slots. He has also written a wide range of academic books, children’s poetry and fiction, has made numerous TV and radio appearances, and has spent the last ten years developing a rollickingly good stand-up routine based on his unique and comprehensive knowledge of life in and around education.
With his keen ear for the absurd and sharp eye for the ludicrous, Gervase Phinn has delighted audiences all over the UK with his stories.
Share some of his hilarious and sometimes poignant tales in An Afternoon with Gervase Phinn on Sunday 11 December at 2.30pm. Tickets are £17.50, please ring the box office on 01284 758000 or see the website – www.theapex.co.uk for details.
