Half Term Round-up

The Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds half term round-up…

Bookstory is the story of some books, in a library. But this is no ordinary library, it’s a wonderful, magical place where the books like to flutter their pages and let their shelves go. The latest show from Monstro Theatre, Pioneers of the Puppet Musical, Bookstory is a blend of puppetry, dynamic performance and song, suitable for ages 5+ (Tue 24 Oct, 3pm).

Scenes of 2017 is a Theatre Royal Writers presentation looking back over the year with an evening of satirical, intimate and ultimately hopeful short plays in our Greene Room Bar, performed in a Review Style. This is a fundraising event to support Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds (Registered Charity Number 242977) and the ticket price includes a welcome drink (Tue 24 Oct, 7.30pm).

Big Foot is a coming-of-age story with a twist of the fantastical. High Rise Theatre Company and Joseph Barnes Phillips present a story of the euphoric highs of teenage life in South London colliding with terminal illness. Love, life and masculinity meet head-on as Rayleigh tries to find his feet, torn between the new girl in his life and being there for his mum, while trying not to make the same mistakes as his dad. Hilarious and heart-breaking in equal measure with raucous energy and inventive staging (Wed 25 Oct, 7.30pm).

Stick Man is the new show from Scamp Theatre, a touching, funny and utterly original adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s popular children’s book. Buddy Holly & The Cricketers is a tribute to one of the world’s best known performers. Having completed tours all across the globe, the show has thousands of fans the world over saying “I can’t believe it’s not Buddy!” The hits just keep on coming, That’ll Be The Day, Peggy Sue, Heartbeat and many more, you’ll be grooving in your seat for sure (Fri 27 Oct).
