Laugh Lots at the Civic

February will have them rolling in the Civic Theatre’s aisle…

This February the Civic Theatre, Chelmsford, has two top comedians taking to the stage and will have the audience in tears of laughter.

Shappi Khorsandi is a household name after her stint in the Australian jungle for ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’. On Friday 9 February she’ll bring her ‘Mistress and Misfit’ show to the Civic Theatre’s stage and she’ll be celebrating one of England’s unsung heroines, Emma Hamilton. Emma was known as just Nelson’s mistress (you get one job in a brothel and bang goes your reputation), but she moved mountains to haul herself up from a scullery maid to ‘Lady Hamilton’. Shappi has been inspired by Emma, although she never wants her hair big enough to house mice in!
