Multi-award winning theatre company Sound Ideas make their first appearance at Epic Studios in April.
“This April, Epic TV Studios plays host to the Norwich-based, multi-award winning theatre company Sound Ideas for the first time. The greatest love story of all time comes to life on stage this April 10th-14th. The latest eye-catching, technically dazzling production from the ambitious local group features a wealth of illusions and impressive technical feats alongside some of the region’s most talented performers – this is certainly not a show to miss!
Walking back to their apartment late one night a tragic encounter sees Sam murdered and his beloved girlfriend Molly alone, in despair and utterly lost.
But with the help of a phoney storefront psychic Sam, trapped between this world and the next, tries to communicate with Molly in the hope of saving her from grave danger…
The movie Ghost has proven to be one of cinema’s biggest all-time hits. Starring the late Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg it was the highest grossing film of 1990 and won an Oscar for screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin who has adapted his screenplay for this musical.
The movie and the musical feature The Righteous Brothers’ Unchained Melody alongside many more terrific songs co-written by Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart.
Sound Ideas are a fresh and innovative theatre company based in Norwich who formed back in 2013 as part of the Norwich Fringe Festival. They now produce an exciting season of theatre each year in a variety of venues in and around Norwich. Beginning as a small group of friends with a passion for innovative theatre, crowded around a piano in a friend’s garage – they packed out their first concert, ‘The Obscure Revue’ which spring-boarded work from there on after and has allowed the group to flourish and grow into the fabulous team that they are today.
The team has produced a wealth of exciting and engaging productions over the last few years which have been nominated for and have received a variety of awards and accolades including the Dr Frank Bates award for Musical Theatre and Dance at the Norfolk Arts Awards, sponsored by the EDP.
In 2016 they took the Norwich theatre scene by storm when they staged the regional premiere of oddball toilet-themed hit Broadway cult musical Urinetown, followed closely by the equally ambitious Christmas production of Stephen Sondheim’s dark spin on fairytales, Into The Woods. 2017 began with an immersive and site-specific production of the dark tale of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and since then they have produced productions of USHERS: The Front of House Musical, Little Shop of Horrors, Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Singin’ in the Rain!
